To be fair both of our cars broke down a few days prior. I was actually driving Jason's car to Pep Boys to see if they were going to be able to fix my car when his car overheated. Sometimes it is so much fun being an adult!
It turned out that they could not fix mine, and we were really hoping it would make it through residency. Now I had no car...and of course I had to pick RLG up in an hour. Luckily there was a rental place across the street.
Later we found out that Jason's car was also going to need a new radiator in addition to a new transmission, at a cost considerably greater than the car's worth. Again, sometimes it is so much fun being an adult!
So here we are Halloween weekend looking to buy two used cars under $10,000. I know...a Halloween Miracle!
In the end we settled on a Dodge Caravan. Yes...a mini van. And for Jason, a new radiator..and an extra large case of transmission fluid until we can find another decent buy.
So the mall may seem a bit lame. But, hey, you do what you have to...and the candy wasn't bad either!
